Concerns on Government Commitment to the Link Road
"I have given a cautious welcome to
the news that the government has given a green light to the
Link Road funding.
The Government was clearly prevaricating and I am determined
that we should not lose this important road link. I asked
Greg Barker MP to join me for a discussion and protest on
Friday Oct 9th to raise the issue once more about getting
commitment for the funding of the road,” said Amber.
Greg Barker met Amber and concerned local residents at Bexhill
Road on Friday to discuss the issue and said afterwards, “I
am relieved that Ministers finally responded to our demands
for a decision on funding albeit several months late. This
news is welcome overall but I remain concerned that Labour
Ministers are still reluctant to fund this vital scheme, so
I shall be keeping up the pressure over the coming months
until we get the final funding in place.”
