Amber Rudd, MP for Hastings and Rye, visited Kurt J Lesker Company’s (KJLC) new 16,000 sq ft facility in Cirket House on Friday, which opened just eight weeks ago. This company was first established in 1954, and is now the global leader in the distribution of vacuum components worldwide. Cirket House holds the largest inventory in the industry. Highest quality equipment has been brought in to offer 5 axis high quality machining; TiG welding, Ultrasonic cleaning, Faro® arm inspection and bake out. This new facility will enable KJLC to support the high demand for quality vessels and components across Europe with shorter lead times.
Amber said: “It is fantastic to learn that the European headquarters of KJLC here in Sidley Little Road, St Leonards has seen such dramatic growth in recent years, is expanding its business ever further into Europe, and was able to take on five new staff, forming part of a dedicated onsite manufacturing team specialising in the fabrication of stainless steel products for vacuum applications. It is exciting that such quality precision engineering jobs are increasing here, and that our town can provide such highly skilled labour.”
