Amber meets Hastings Greenway Group to discuss plans for new walking and cycling paths

Local MP Amber Rudd MP met with the Chair of Hastings Sustainable Travel Forum, Mr Ian Sier and Mr Tony Polain from Hastings Greenway Group to discuss the proposed Ore Valley Greenway routes for walking and cycling.

Mr Sier and Mr Polain took Amber on a guided tour through the proposed Ore Valley Routes and explained the potential of this development and how areas such as Broomgrove and Ore Village would connect to Ore Train Station.

Speaking about Amber’s visit, Mr Polain said:

"On behalf of the various local groups involved in this project, we would like to say how pleased we were with Amber's enthusiasm and immediate grasp of the potential of this project. Not only is this an opportunity to create an attractive and prestigious public amenity, it is also a vitally needed piece of connectivity for one of most deprived parts of the country."

Amber said:

“I was delighted to meet with Tony and Ian to have a tour of the proposed site for Hastings Greenway Project. I believe Hastings Greenway Project, which aims to connect cycling and walking paths from Ore Train Station to Ore Village, would greatly improve transport links for residents of Ore Village and the surrounding area.”
