Amber meets with local rail user groups

Amber recently met with local rail user groups to discuss what improvements they felt could be made to deliver the best services possible to residents. Amber and Huw Merriman, MP for Bexhill and Battle, met with representatives from East Sussex Rail Alliance, St Leonards and Hastings Rail Improvement Programme, MarshLink Action Group, Railfuture, Three Oaks and Winchelsea Action on Rail Transport, Bexhill Rail Action Group and Battle Chamber of Commerce to discuss local commuters’ experiences with the local rail services and the changes they felt could be made to address any issues. Since becoming MP for Hastings and Rye in 2010, Amber has heavily campaigned for improved transport from the capital to Hastings. She regularly lobbies both the Government and national rail bodies, as well as holding meetings to ensure that delivering high speed journeys to Hastings and Rye remains a top priority. Amber holds annual Rail Summits with her next one scheduled for Friday 14 September from 10:00 to 12 noon at Sussex Coast College. Amber said: “I organise regular meetings with our local rail user groups to get feedback on how best I can lobby the Government and national rail bodies to deliver the best services possible for our residents. “I am pleased that so many local groups took the time to meet with me and discuss their findings. These will help me to shape the discussion at my annual Rail Summit and ensure that our towns’ queries and concerns are fully addressed. “I encourage all of our residents to join me at this Summit to hear directly from and ask questions of both the Minister for Rail and national rail organisations. I hope to see you on 14 September.” ---ENDS---
