Amber presses Highways England to commit to A21 improvements

LOCAL MP AMBER RUDD HAS SECURED COMMITMENT FROM HIGHWAYS ENGLAND TO IMPROVE THE A21. Amber met Roads Minister Michael Ellis, Huw Merriman MP, and Highways England to discuss upcoming improvement projects for road safety and the long-term projects planned for the A21.

Amber commented:

“I am pleased to have had an encouraging meeting with Highways England and I am grateful that the Minister took the time to attend.

“Highways England are taking steps to improve our road safety measures on the A21. However, I am pressing forward for larger investment to take place, I am looking to get the best possible deal for my residents.

“I believe that improving the A21 will boost our local economy, jobs and businesses. This is why I am working hard to ensure residents’ concerns are heard by government and I will continue to demand a better deal for them.”

During the meeting, Highways England explained that the route strategy will include possible options for further safety and capacity improvement needs.
