Local MP, Amber Rudd, opened the Fete at Rye, Winchelsea and District Memorial Hospital on Saturday 13th June. It was a tremendous success with up to 1,000 visitors, supporting their local community hospital.
Amber welcomed visitors and thanked local businesses and our team of volunteers for donating their time, energy and resources. The fete was a great opportunity for local residents to view the new Sanctuary Extra Care flats at St Bartholomew’s Court development on the hospital site and the newly refurbished hospital reception area.
Amber commented: “I very much enjoyed taking part in the Rye Hospital Fete. There was a variety of activities to do: there were donkeys, Pimms and even slap-the-rat! It is a wonderful time to be out and about in Rye and the fete was certainly packed out with residents and visitors.
“I’d like to thank all those that helped to organise the fete- everyone involved should be very proud of all that was achieved for our much loved and expanding local community hospital!”
