Amber shoots hoops at the World Club Basketball Tournament

THE FIFTH WORLD CLUB BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT ROLLED INTO HASTINGS and they were joined by Amber Rudd, MP for Hastings and Rye.

Amber said, “It was a real pleasure to experience first-hand the energy and buzz of this impressive event in which so many global players were competing, and I enjoyed shooting hoops with Cllr Nigel Sinden, the Mayor of Hastings, managing to get the ball in the net on my second attempt drawing on my former netball skills.  I was even more pleased to get the ball in the net on the second attempt, when I stood with my back to it and threw it over my head!

The WCBT was founded by Eric Douglin, who having previously hosted several international tournaments in the UK including teams and officials from around the globe, created this central event. WCBT has included competitors at the highest level around the world, including the NBA, NCAA, Euro League amongst other professional leagues around the world.  This multi ‘Award Winning’ tournament is ‘the UK’s No 1 International Basketball Event’ hosted by Bexhill Giants Basketball Club, and is open to senior male players, including professional, semi-pro or high standard amateurs.
