Her comments come after she received assurances from Hastings Pier owner Abid Gulzar that the landmark would reopen in the coming days following a fire.

Huge progress is being made building the homes that Hastings needs, declared local MP Amber Rudd after a visit to a new housing site.

Amber was hosted by Gemselect where she saw for herself some of the 109 new and refurbished properties being built in Decimus Burton’s St Leonards
