Today I raised my concerns with First Secretary of State Dominic Raab who stood in for the PM today at PMQs, regarding the Government sidelining the role of Parliament as it seeks to deliver on Brexit.
Last Saturday on 21 July, the Rt Hon John McDonnell MP visited Hastings as part of a tour to visit “left behind towns”. It is Parliamentary Convention to alert the incumbent Member of Parliament if another MP chooses to visit their constituency on a public matter.
On Monday 4th June, the Rt Hon Amber Rudd, Member of Parliament for Hastings and Rye asked Home Secretary Rt Hon Sajid Javid to ensure the private sector does not suffer from increased pressure on the tier 2 visa cap and can still access the same level of highly skilled and experienced workers.
