Department for Work and Pensions will bring over 300 jobs to Hastings by the end of the year

More than 300 jobs will be created locally under new plans.

The Department for Work and Pensions will create a Universal Credit Service Centre in Hastings. The service centre is expected to bring around 350 full time and part time vacancies to Hastings and will provide support for the South East area.

Over time, the service centre will provide support for JobCentres in the South East. The Department will work positively with local employers to ensure they understand how it will impact them.

Amber Rudd, MP for Hastings and Rye said: “I am pleased that the Department have chosen to open a Service Centre in Hastings. This will bring a huge boost to our economy through offering high quality local jobs to people here in Hastings.

“This is a great opportunity for those in Hastings wishing to pursue part or full time employment. I look forward to seeing the completion of the service centre later in the year.”
