AMBER RUDD MP HAS CONGRATULATED LOCAL SCHOOL CHILDREN for their new artwork on Ore village station.
Commenting on her visit to Ore Station, Amber said: “It was a pleasure to attend Ore village railway station and to have the opportunity to see for myself the excellent creative work that has gone into improving both the appearance and atmosphere of the station.
“I would like to thank all the parties involved for their efforts and in particular, the local school pupils whose hard work has succeeded in brightening up the day of every day rail commuters”.
The ‘Art at the Station’ project event was attended by pupils of Baird Primary Academy and their parents as well as Kevin Boorman, chair of the Marshlink Community Rail Partnership, and Trevor Davies of Ore Rail Action Group.
With the assistance of Southern Rail, Ore station has been outfitted with two poster panels, both of which are now being used to display local school artwork and has helped significantly towards improving the overall appearance of the station.
The children present were keen to show off their designs to their local Member of Parliament. These included a poster panel featuring different types of birds, with each school pupil having made their own contribution to the poster.
