AMBER RUDD, MP FOR HASTINGS AND RYE HAS PAID TRIBUTE TO LOCAL EMERGENCY SERVICES following a devastating fire to The George in Rye.
Speaking at The George in Rye, Amber said: “The most important thing is that no one was hurt which is testament to the swift and effective response from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS).
“It is always sad to see historic buildings like this damaged, but I would like to especially thank Dan Channon, Station Manager at ESFRS who dealt with the incident quickly and spoke to me on-site after the fire early Saturday morning.”
The fire at The George in Rye was swiftly combatted by ESFRS who quickly arrived with 8 fire engines in the early hours of Saturday morning. ESFRS and the insurance company for The George in Rye will now begin a joint investigation into the cause of the fire.
