Local MP Visits All Saints C.E Junior Academy

Local MP Amber Rudd recently visited All Saints C.E Junior Academy and met with Mandy Hinxman, Class Teacher and Global co-ordinator.

Amber was given a guided tour of the school by pupils of All Saints Academy. Following this, Amber took part in an assembly about the academy’s Global Village and World Peace. Amber was able to see the outcome of All Saints Connecting Classrooms programme.

The Connecting Classrooms through Global Learning programme from the British Council in partnership with the Department for International Development, aims to help young people develop the knowledge, skills and values to take action on and support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals.

Amber commented, “I was delighted to visit All Saints Junior Academy and meet with Mandy to see the Connecting Classrooms through Global Learning programme in action. It was also great to see the pupils involved in an assembly about World Peace and to have the opportunity to provide an insight in to my own experiences as an MP for Hastings and Rye.”

Mandy Hinxman, Class Teacher and Global Co-Ordinator at All Saints C.E Junior Academy said, “Brooke and Melek, from year 5 at All Saints Academy explained, ‘we were very nervous at first but when we got used to the crowd it was very exciting and fun. We were also very lucky to have Amber, our local MP, join us.’ Amber praised the children on the quality of their presentation and we would like to extend our thanks to her, it is always great to have inspiring visitors.”
