More local women in Hastings should start a business, Amber Rudd told a Make It Your Business seminar in Hastings.
Make It Your Business is an initiative set up to inspire and encourage more women to start their own business.
“It was a pleasure to meet with the team from Make It Your Business to discuss female enterprise in Hastings.
“I would like to thank the MIYB team for all of the hard work in putting together the event and for bringing together such passionate women to support our local economy.
“It’s absolutely vital for the economy and for female economic independence that as many women as possible have the opportunity to start a business.”
During the event Alison Cork, founder of MIYB and an entrepreneur, discussed the initiative and its aims. Local MP Amber then discussed female enterprise in Hastings. The Hastings Local Champion, Sorrell Marlow-Eastwood introduced panellists Fiona Allman-Treen (FAT Promotions), Geraldine Brooks (female networking) and Alison Cork. Each spoke about their journey in business, the highlights and the challenges, and later answered questions from the audience.
