You can Bank on it: Rye Residents enjoy new Mobile Banking Unit

RESIDENTS IN RYE ARE BENEFITTING FROM A NEW MOBILE BANKING UNIT which was recently visited by Amber Rudd, the local MP for Hastings and Rye.

Following her visit, she commented:

“Having banking services readily available is so important to allow for customers to fulfil their everyday banking needs. I recognise the vital role in safeguarding access to banking for local communities across our country and I understand concerns regarding the impact that closures of branches could have, particularly in rural areas.

“I am pleased that Lloyds have a mobile branch service that travels to a number of locations helping customers to do their banking. Residents must be able to access over-the-counter services and this service allows for customers to receive this.

“I hope that other banking branches will consider creating similar services to allow for our residents to access banking services when they need them.”

Simon Hughes, Lloyds Bank branch manager, said: “Our industry-leading mobile branch provides face to face banking for customers in Hastings and Rye. At each stop, our experienced colleagues are on hand to help personal and business customers, whether that’s withdrawing money, paying bills, helping them with online banking or speaking about our other services.”

Lloyds have a mobile branch network which comes to the Market Car Park in Rye between 10:00 – 11:45 and 12:30 – 14:45 on Wednesdays and 10:00 – 11:30 on Fridays.

The new mobile branch, which offers rural communities a convenient banking service, provides customers with a range of services for everyday banking needs such as: account enquiries, cash/cheque deposits, cash withdrawals, international payments and to pay bills.
