Our community is home to many fantastic places to socialise; from bustling bars to unique pubs with fantastic character, there is certainly no shortage of places for people to enjoy themselves after a day at work.
Last Saturday on 21 July, the Rt Hon John McDonnell MP visited Hastings as part of a tour to visit “left behind towns”. It is Parliamentary Convention to alert the incumbent Member of Parliament if another MP chooses to visit their constituency on a public matter.
Since I was first elected as the MP for Hastings and Rye in 2010, I have made it my priority to ensure we get a fairer deal for our fishermen who have struggled for too long under the Common Fisheries Policy and are greatly limited by their quotas.

Amber Rudd MP attended a meeting with Chris Paine of Martello Developments Ltd in Rye to discuss Martello’s exciting new plans to redevelop the town’s Rock Channel and adjacent land. Martello is a local development partnership founded by David Kowitz.
I love birthdays – mine is coming up and I hope my family know I love surprise parties. Yesterday, it was the 70th Birthday of our National Health Service. The NHS is a fantastic public service which makes Britain stand out amongst other nations.
